Sinopse: O drama épico `O Mordomo´, conta a história do mordomo fictício Cecil Gaines, que presta serviço durante sete mandatos presidenciais na Casa Branca, entre 1957 e 1986. Enquanto se torna testemunha ocular da história e das negociações de bastidor do Salão Oval – em um momento em que o movimento de direitos civil desabrocha – sua dedicação ao trabalho alimenta tensões em casa, afastando sua esposa, Gloria, e criando conflitos com seu filho mais velho, opositor do sistema. O filme é inspirado no artigo do Washington Post `Um mordomo bem servido por esta eleição´, escrito por Wil Haygood em 2008, que contava a vida real do mordomo da Casa Branca Eugene Allen.
